Krysten Skutt has been playing the piano and loving it for 30 years. Throughout her high school years, she participated in piano competitions on both regional and national levels, placing in many and winning several. She went on to study under Mrs. Daisy De Luca Jaffé at Pensacola Christian College and received her BA in Piano Pedagogy in 2007.

For four years, Krysten ran a full studio in central Illinois, where she taught students of all ages and skill levels. She and her family moved to Pensacola in 2013, when she opened Pensacola Studio of Piano and joined the Pensacola Music Teachers Association.

Krysten places great emphasis on students' understanding of the core basics of the piano and of music, so that they have a firm foundation to build upon wherever their musical dreams may take them. At the same time, she believes that music should be fun, and enjoys helping students discover the joys of making music on the piano through songs that explore the entire keyboard, musical games and activities, and exciting performance opportunities.

In addition to being a piano teacher, Krysten is also the wife of a Math teacher, homeschools three children, and runs a homeschool co-op. When not teaching or managing her household, she enjoys reading, eating chocolate, and playing a variety of sports.

"My daughter began piano lessons with Krysten Skutt 2 years ago. This year she is playing piano for her Jr High 6th grade Jazz Band, about to compete in Solo/Ens Competition, and was asked to play at the school's 8th grade graduation. Thanks for getting her started!" -Julie

"Krysten is an EXCELLENT piano teacher! She taught three of our children piano and they learned very much and progressed quickly under her teaching. She is very good with children." -Colleen

"Krysten not only plays beautifully, herself, she teaches just as well. She has taught a wide span of ages and levels during her time in Chillicothe, IL, and we were blessed to have her. I loved having my daughter learn from her, especially since they have very similar musical styles when it comes to playing. [My daughter] learned a great deal from her. Krysten cares about each of her students...You won't be disappointed." -Kathy
